Supplied on loan from BSA factory, to the 1967 Earls Court motor cycle show and, uniquely for a Spitfire , supplied in white and in Police trim. It apparently then went on loan to various people, and then was lost from records until it turned up in 2006, in America. |

The BSA Spitfire was launched in 1966. One of the first BSA’s to have 12-volt electrics, the Spitfire was also one of the first \"street racers\" with two large-bore Amal GP carburettors, complete with velocity stacks. The Spitfire had a new twin-downtube steel frame and new Girling shocks. A 190mm front drum brake improved braking and lightweight alloy rims reduced the weight to 174kg.
