We’ve discovered another classic bike that’s a bit of a survivor, this time it’s a Honda VFR750FG. It’s the first V4 750cc model that had gear driven cams fitted. The earlier Honda VF750F had a few issues shall we say, most of them stemmed from the cam chain department. Honda had to get the VFR right, their reputation and sushi budget depended on it.
The rest is history! This VFR750FG that’s come our way sadly arrived with no paper history, well other than a tax disc from the year 2000. Since then it’s sat gathering dust, rust and various creepy crawlies. The FG was the first VFR750 model, it had snide looking Dymag wheels and an alloy frame, later models got different sized hoops and single sided swing arms. This one is in pretty poor condition, it’s more than likely going to end up getting broken for any salvageable parts, it’s a shame really because it’s quite a landmark model in its own way.
