The most recent Bennetts Rider Panel survey revealed that 31% of the 2110 respondents have owned an adventure-style motorcycle and 84% think that such machines should be ridden on and off road. However, more than a third of those surveyed admit that they have never ridden a motorcycle off road (either their own or someone else’s), with 12% stating they would not be confident enough to do so. Almost half have never ridden their own motorcycle off road, the main reason being that they would not want to damage the bike (24%).
