bsa 650cc rocket gold star
the bsa rocket gold star is a british motorcycle that marked the final stage of development of the bsa a10 twins. with a specially tuned a10 super rocket engine in the well proven bsa gold star single frame, bsa created a very fast bike (for the time) with good handling fast bike that became 'classic'. surviving models are in such demand today that 'fakes' (using super rocket parts) are sold as originals. .

This bike is original in ever respect. It is unrestored and has never been touched. Raced briefly prewar then again in the early 50's. It is a dope engine as fitted from the factory. Delivered By Bennet & Wood, Birmingham on 15th February 1938. Engine JM 24 101 Frame JM 24 219. These are from the club records and quotes ref B31. After an inspection by the editor the bike has featured in Old Bike Magazine down under last year. It was also inspected by a Dating Officer of the Queensland BSA Club who believes it to be the real deal, he had previously inspected JM24 102 in the UK and owns a JM24 himself.

BSA B32 Gold Star, 1949-57, 348cc, ohv single, 360lb, 65mpg, 85mph. Basically a B31 with more go, flashy bodywork and better brakes. The DB32 has a good duplex frame but the price is high and there are plenty to be had. Suffers from a 'cult status'. Overpriced due to the vast over-reputation which masks their charm from many new riders. This was a racing road bike and has good looks.

The DB 32 represented the culmination in the development for the 350cc variant of the Gold Star and was only officially available as a catalogue model between 1955 and 1957, after that if a buyer wanted a 350cc machine they had to order a 500 and specify the 350cc engine as an option. As with previous variants , the DB was initially offered in Clubmans, scrambles, road racing and touring forms, although the tourer only lasted until the end of 1956. Developing between 30 and 32.5 bhp at 7500 rpm depending on the silencer or lack of, fitted, the revised engine design of the DB resulted in an increase in power output of about 2 bhp in comparison to the previous CB. The new engine, although visually similar to that of the CB incorporate a number of significant changes contributing to the increase in power output. A revised cylinder liner with thicker walls was adopted as was a revised crankshaft oil feed and the float chamber mounting became a vertical one. The cycle parts continued much as before although the front brake now incorporated six cooling holes with blanking discs that could be removed by the owner and the rear drum cooling fins were now part of an alloy sleeve. Perhaps the most significant amendment was that which occurred with the Clubmans "silencer", specially developed internals resulted in the "twittering" on the over run that is now regarded as a must for any Goldie. BSA Goldstar Scrambler
The frame is a replica BSA model but with oil in frame. The wheels are Matchless front and BSA crinkle on the rear with an alloy brake drum fitted. Both are fitted with stainless spokes and Morad alloy rims. Fork yokes are billet aluminium and are holding modified Matchless fork legs with japanese inners, so the bike has decent suspension. The gearbox is a Norton AMC. The engine is a specially modified BSA Goldstar which is out to 640cc running on Methanol. It has a J E piston fitted with a special billet steel crank assembly with a Jawa conrod which meant we could stroke the crank to get more cc. The engine has only done 2 race meetings since full rebuild. There is also an oil filter fitted. The carb is a Mk 1 Concentric and is 36 mm. Rear shocks are Ohlins. Mudguards are both aluminium and both tyres are brand new. All stainless fasteners fitted throughout the bike. Full stainless steel exhaust fitted with alloy silencer. The ignition system is STM. BSA Victor fuel tank fitted with a BSA Scrambles seat.
