Honda XL175
The Honda XL175 was never known as a competitive Enduro bike, but it does a lot of fans, mostly because it's a fun and reliable bike (like just about all Hondas) that has plenty of torque and is easy to ride. The drum brakes work fine, although they're said to have some fade after heavy off-road riding. If it has a flaw, it is that it is reputed to be prone to breaking kick start shafts.

frame: the frame has been modified and is loosley based on the henning honda - loads of extra bracing giving a far more rigid construction – is so much stiffer than was, so can crank it up with confidence when cornering. carburration: the old kei hin cv carbs were junked and replaced with 34mm amal mk 2 dual concentrics with velocity stacks. the black bomber tank has a big bore norton fuel tap fitted to feed these. i have stacks of jets to re-tune if deemed necessary. motor: wiseco race pistons and external oil routes. exhaust system: fitted with swarbrick racing underslung downpipes and virtually brand new megaton reverse cone megas. brakes: the forks have been reversed and we now have twin discs fed by a nissin master cylinder with goodrich braided hosing. the twinning has meant the speedo is now gone (but you know how quick you're going, don't you?). rear brake is original hub brake and not very good – new shoes may improve. rearsets: hand built. electrics: more than half the wiring loom has been removed – it’s caused me a headache over the years but now is far more simple than ever – check out the battery now housed under tail piece. as you can see there are no indicators, nor are there any funny little lights to tell you’re in neutral or whatever! shocks: hagon shocks about 2 years old – no more than 1000 miles! tyres: battleaxe rear and venom front. rims: rear is alloy rim, front original steel chromed with stainless spokes.

Honda Stream Tricycle
The Stream was offered in November 1981. The single-seater Stream was powered by a 49cc two-stroke engine that drove via a continuously variable 'twin-'n-go' transmission and, like that of the Ariel, the Honda's entire front end tilted to negotiate a corner, the rear wheels remaining upright. Although not a failure of Ariel proportions, the Stream was not an unqualified success either, disappearing from the Honda range in 1984.
