During the VERONA LEGEND CARS, which will take place next May, 13 to 15 in the Verona Fiere pavillions, the Florentine Casa d’Aste Maison Bibelot will hold an important auction of cars and motorcycles historical material. The auction will proceed in two different ways, partly live, in Verona, and partly online.
The first event, regarding about three hundred most interesting historical and collectible items will be held in Verona Fiere Hall 1 on Saturday, May, 14 at 3 pm. The second event, consisting of several hundred lots, will be managed only online, starting on Friday, May, 13 and closing progressively from Friday, May 27, onwards.
Among the lots already acquired stand out important items and documents, offered, for charity, by Giancarlo Minardi, founder of the unforgettable racing cars team.
There will be his own racing suit collection of drivers who run with Minardi’s cars, from Alboreto, to Katayama, Martini, Tuero …
Moreover, among his objects, you’ll find a Lamborghini 12 cylinder engine, which powered his vehicles in 1993, then lots of paperdocuments including technical drawings, and correspondence with Enzo Ferrari and several other personalities in the F1 world.
It will be a wide availability of catalogues and cars’ and motorcycles’ instruction books covering nearly a century of motor history, from the beginning of the XX°century until the 2000s, with special reference to the Italian car houses such as Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, etc.
Even the publishing industry will deserve a lot of place with hundreds sold out books and important magazines such as Auto Italiana and Motociclismo, starting from the Twenties of the last century. Also a wide range of commemorative and advertising badges, medals and pins will be put up for the auction.
The graphic art will be present with some original works by De Giusti, the author of Ferrari Yearbooks covers and catalogues during the Fifthies and of numerous Autosprint covers during the following decades. Objects, such as a beautiful gold and diamonds Cartier Cadillac brooche, two Rolex Daytona and various rallye Tag Heuer chronographs will attract your attention.
Also in the models’ field you’ll find some rare and noteworthy promotionals, including a 1954 aluminum Fiat turbine, scale 1/5, a maquette of the Fiat 2800 Carrozzeria Touring 1939, scale 1/10 and the famous Alfa Romeo Alfetta produced by Alfa House to celebrate the World F1 triumphes in the early Fifthies.
Last, but not least, the appealing field of old cars and motorcycles; only thirty items total will be put up for auction and the selection is still on. In the meantime, we can confirm a beautiful Porsche 911 Targa 2400 1973 with less than 30,000 km., a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle, an appealing Brough Superior SS 80 De Luxe with Petroltube sidecar, a 1921 BSA 550 and, as a tribute to 2000 years of pre-motocar history, a wonderful Romagna waggon from the Twenthies of the last century, entirely decorated by a famous coeval painter from Ravenna.
