Flogged It Friday! Kawasaki ZZR1100 Engine.
“Was that a boat anchor?”
Despite being unused and sporting a low mileage of 22,000 miles, this ZZR1100 engine hasn’t aged well. The bike it came from had spent years sat in a garage by the sea in Rhyl, Wales. The seaside air had managed to take what was once a tidy bike and reduce it to a festering mess.
“What generation ZZR was it?”
This was from a 1990 gen 1 version. The ZZR1100 was the king of speed back in its day. Strangely though, they have not got much of a classic status to their name, this is also confirmed by the fact they are still a cheap bike. There’s no inflated classic bike price tags here, well not yet.
“Who would want it?”
The guy that bought it told us his plans to rebuild it. I personally would have broken it for parts if I had more time on my hands.
The cheap thrills image of the ZZR1100 was reflected in this motor barely fetching a £100.
