Flogged it Friday! Yamaha RD350 YPVS butchered electrics.
“Did the bin man not turn up this week?”
I admit it, I had considered just lobbing this week’s little stash in the rubbish, however I have a mantra that I live my life by, which is that ‘shit sells’.
These were leftovers from parts I’d bought last year when I was gathering parts for a YammaGamma project. I bought a RD350 YPVS engine that had come from another unfinished project. The engine came with a pair of carbs, some clocks and this mangled wiring loom.
“How do you price something so shady like this?”
You don’t. You stick it on an auction listing and leave it to chance.
Clinging to the chopped about wiring loom was a CDI, YPVS control box without its lid! A 4L0 regulator and layers of sticky electrical tape that hid the bodged up joins which held it together like the Royal family at a state occasion… I had considered unpicking the CDI unit and selling that separately, but then realised that would just be pointless seeing that I had no proof it even worked.
I started off at £4.99 and left it to the universe!
“It made how much?”
I didn’t bother keeping track of the bids, anything would be better than nothing. I pointed out that the whole lot had been butchered and was untested. After a week it closed at £36.00 with £3.20 postage almost making the sale total £40.
I was chuffed with that! Yet again shit sells!
