The VMax 1200 came with a really stupid rear wheel size. The custom look of the bike required a squatty looking back wheel. This is great for looks but rather limits tyre choice in this modern age.
The back hoop from a XJ900S Diversion is a ‘get out of jail card’ for this tricky situ. Being a modern conventional 17 inch rim means tyre choice is then much easier to sort.

It’s been a while since I have broken one of these. This wheel came on an unloved London bike that had killed its engine.
At £100, it was only live on eBay for a few hours before a customer in
America bought it via eBay GSP.
