The National Motor Museum Trust has created an exclusive range of greetings cards which play recordings of some of the most iconic record breakers, motorcycles and racing cars in its world-famous collection.

Twenty-one vehicles were chosen for their unique engine sounds, which are played as the cards open. The cards, which are available to buy in the Beaulieu attraction gift shop, have been produced with Hampshire Cultural Trust and Really Wild Cards.

Many of the engine sounds were recorded specially for the project and the Motoring Picture Library has provided pictures from its collection to feature on the front of the cards.

The cars featured in the card range include the:

  • 1935 Auburn 851 Speedster
  • 1930 Bentley 4.5 Supercharged
  • 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost
  • 1920 Sunbeam 350hp
  • 1967 Lotus 49
  • 1903 De Dion Bouton
  • 1956 Austin Healey 100M
  • 1954 Triumph TR2
  • 1914 Rolls-Royce Alpine Eagle

Jonathan Day, Motoring Picture Library Manager at the National Motor Museum Trust, said:  “The photographs for the cards were taken in the Beaulieu attraction grounds and in our studio and we have included caption details of the vehicle’s history on the back of each card. All of the vehicles included are part of the National Motor Museum’s collection of more than 250 vehicles from throughout motoring history and we are very excited to be part of this unique project.”
