Make or Break? Yamaha XJ600 Diversion.
“Daft name that!”
Diversion, such a stupid name for a bike. It is often shortened to Divvy, which is not much better really, or people call them a Perversion, which isn’t great either. Why do bike firms come up with these annoying names?
“That looks bright!”
Certain colours really suit motorcycles, black, red and definitely not yellow! This custard tart of a Yamaha Diversion stands out for all of the wrong reasons. It wouldn’t be my first choice of colour if I was in the market for a cheapy.
Like Suzuki did with their Bandit range, Yamaha went and colour coded the frame to match the bodywork, so you can’t even just rattle can the tank and plastics black!
“Only £350, that’s cheap!”
Yup, it’s probably the cheapest 4 cylinder 600cc out there that’s currently on the market. The good news is, it’s complete and even the tyres and chain look decent. The bad news is, it needs waking up from 5 years off the road. I have opted to try and punt it on whole, but if it doesn’t find a home within a week or so I will break it for sure!
