Fans of Ogri have an opportunity to buy a subscriber’s first edition of the complete compendium of Ogri cartoons 1972-2013.
Three years in the making, Now to make my getaway contains all 443 published cartoons, (plus two that never made it to a magazine page). Each strip is printed on 355 x 324 mm pages, allowing readers to savour the intricate detail of Paul Sample’s distinctive artwork.
Everyone who orders a book before 15th October can have their name printed in a subscribers’ list at the back, together with any short message or gift dedication, if required.
Created by cartoonist and illustrator Paul Sample in the early 1970s, the Ogri cartoon strip ran in Bike magazine until 2008, and then in Back Street Heroes, until the last Ogri was published in October 2013.
Printed and bound by FJ Blissett & Co, holders of a royal warrant from Her Majesty the Queen, there are three options, all hardbacks, ranging in price from £85 to £250;
Bound in black buckram book cloth, priced at £85.
- Bound in black buckram book cloth, presented in a hand-made slipcase and numbered from 101 upwards, selling for £125.
- A limited edition of one hundred copies, bound in Wildman and Bugby black leather, individually signed and doodled by Paul, and presented in the slipcase. Numbered 1-100, they will be priced at £250.
Due for delivery in time for Christmas, demand is expected to be high, especially for the limited edition run.
Books will still be available after October 15th, but without the opportunity to have the purchaser’s name added to the list of subscribers at the back. Books bought after December 31st will no longer be numbered.
