Suzuki GSX-R1100 K Slingshot polishing

Suzuki GSX-R1100 K Slingshot – Stage 4 (MOT-ready?)

Suzuki GSX-R1100 K Slingshot polishingOk, it’s time to prioritise the workload and get her MOT-ready, spring is here (although as I write this it’s been raining all effing day!) which is evident as the Beast from the East snow finally clears! We can make her look pretty later as it’s going to be a long-termer, our current priority is to get the old girl on the road now the clocks went forward and start showing her off at some of the local weekly evening bike meets.

Logbok has arrived so change of ownership is official! However, it doesn’t have the Bandit 1200 engine registered so back to DVLA it goes!

Suzuki GSX-R1100 K Slingshot polished swingarmSwingarm, clutch plate cover and suspension linkage have all been polished by Mark’s Mirror Polishing in Peterborough. Fantastic workmanship, a real credit to their work.

They came highly recommended by 3 independent sources and turnaround was just a few days. We really hope it fits as we have now invested £350 into it!

On order this week;

  • number plate light
  • front indicators
  • Haynes manual (other manufacturer’s manuals are available)
  • R&G rear shock cover
  • Ohlins steering damper (plus fitting kit)
  • Autosol
  • vinyl garage banner

Still on the (potential) shopping list;Suzuki GSX-R1100 K Slingshot polished engine cover

  • handlebar choke
  • Number plate bracket
  • Gixer keyring
  • carbon plate (so battery is not exposed on the modified undertray)
  • pair of new boots (tyres)

Still shopping for a Gixer number plate, best we can find is £500, might play the waiting game.

Annoyingly, I also heard that the MOT rules have recently changed which means no chain guard is no longer an advisory but a failure, more shopping…

Tested the riding position, knees sit pretty high so could do with some rearsets, MORE shopping!

We appreciate the feedback, let us know what you think…hopefully next time we’ll have some news on the work we have started so we can get the old girl back on the road, think the swingarm has to go in first!
