TEC is proud to present our latest build; the ‘Orca’, named due to the colour scheme bearing a strong resemblance to a killer whale. A ’03 T100 was used as a base bike to create the ‘Orca’. The build has been completed partially to showcase many of TEC’s custom in-house designed parts available at www.tecbikeparts.com. Those of you considering building a custom Bonneville will want to check out the TEC Bike Parts YouTube channel which hosts a 6 parts series demonstrating the building of this street tracker. During the series George highlights how to avoid the usual problems involved with this level of modification. He shows how to fit an alternative tank to an EFI bike as well as how to delete the oil cooler.
TEC do not do customer builds, we mostly supply upgrade parts to specialist bike builders and bike owners who wish to customise their ride worldwide. George built this bike for his own riding pleasure, but has produced the videos to share his knowledge accumulated through his years in the bike trade to help you modify your own bike. You might think Street Trackers are a new thing; George has built lots of specials over the years including scramblers, café racers and even a chopper. But he has a thing for trackers and has now built 9 of them, Starting way back in 1974 with a T120 bonnie motor in a BSA frame using Trident 19” wheels and forks and a Yamaha 250 tank. The Trackers that followed were mostly Bonnie or XS650 based with a Kawasaki and a CCM thrown in the mix.
Absolutely everything including all fabricating, machining, paintwork, welding, plumbing and electrics were done by George in house
In the videos you will also be able to get an idea on the costings of the build with the finished bike costing a lot less than you would think!
This build was focusing on a bike that was fun to ride and can be used every day, but also had to look good from every angle.
