Many projects are started, but how many ever get finished? Well here’s one that’s now built and ready for action. The McLean GSX1700 is a purpose built drag bike, and here’s some info in it from their Facebook page.
It’s taken 3 years, over 3,000 hours of hard graft, many stumbling blocks to overcome, many sleepless nights, a few arguments, and help from some of the best people we have the pleasure to call friends.
When we started this project to hopefully build the most extreme GSX1400 in the world, we could never of imagined the bike would turn out like this, and to be honest, we’re all speechless right now. Aside from waiting on some new bodywork fasteners, the GSX1700 Nitrous Outlaw is finally finished!
We would like to send out our heartfelt thanks, in no particular order to
Ashley Parker at Powderworkz for the awesum powerdercoating job
Rob Bush at Rob Bush Motorsports for advice and supplying some top notch parts for the bike
Roger Upperton for the momentous amount of work he has done on the one off cylinder head
Nick Pepper at Suzuki Spares for parts supplies.
Richard Hocking at CP Racetech for brake componants
Andrew Watson and Ady Cattell for the 3d printing work.
Ian Jim Cross from Cross Customs for their absolutely flawless paint work
The Warpspeed Racing team Dale Leeks, Andrew Leeks, Mark Simon Smith, Glenn Tooke, @Martin Hewitt, and @John Wood for their help and advice.
A Huge thanks to Stuart Crane at Warpspeed Racing for his fabrication work, advice and most importantly, the belief in the project from the day the plan was conceived.
Also a special thanks to Bernadette Mclean for the countless amounts of tea, coffee, bacon butties, etc etc while the build has been in progress. Sarah Suzuki McLean for putting up with the amount of time Jnr spent out of the house.
And finally to all the well wisher’s and supporters and anyone else who we havent mentioned, who has lent their help or advice along the way.
We’ll see you in 4 weeks when we start testing. Hope you all like it.
