Look at this crazy Kawasaki! I say Kawasaki, there’s not too much of the donor classic bike left. The original air cooled DOHC engine is long gone, instead there’s a Suzuki GSX-R1100 oil cooled engine nestling between the steel frame rails. The owner could have left it there, instead they’ve gone one step further.
I admired the build quality of the bike whilst people wandered up poking their finger out and trotting out various expletives at the turbo that dangles menacingly from the exhaust headers.
Over the last few years the interest in turbo charging older bikes is one area of the classic bike that’s really taking off. Not only does it look tougher than the bloke from Boyzone with all the tattoos, it’s also a very cost effective way to go fast. This bike looked superb, from the glorious paint on the petrol tank through to the polished alloy parts and the general attention to detail. The long swing arm points to its purpose, a point and squirt street bike that should see off all comers away from the traffic lights.
